Recognition of Outstanding ContributionPurpose The Mayo School of Health Sciences (MSHS) Recognition of Outstanding Contribution acknowledges an alumnus or alumna of MSHS programs whose contributions are exceptional in one or more of the following areas: - to the clinical care of patients
- to research in their field
- to provide mentoring and education to young professionals
- to humanitarian endeavors
Recognition Recognition is given at the annual meeting of the MSHS Alumni Association. Travel and lodging expenses are provided. Criteria The MSHS Alumni Association will honor graduates who are: - Dedicated to service of patients
- Promote the art and science of medicine through the education of students - in a clinical or academic setting
- Participate in and/or encourages research
- Are leaders in their field
- Are involved in community service
- Have made contributions to under-served populations or provide services in challenging situations
- Involvement in MSHSAA
Nomination Process Self nominations are encouraged. Nominations can focus on one or more areas of accomplishments and should include specific examples. Nomination form, along with a copy of nominee's CV, should be submitted. A selection committee chaired by the President Elect is comprised of the three Executive Committee members, two of the Ex Officio members of the Exectuve Committee and the Mayo Clinic Alumni Center director will review the applications and select the recipients.
